IPython

IPython is an outdated term that used to refer to “Interactive Python.” Originally this was the program that made python notebooks that are very popular in data analysis and data science today.

Recently, IPython has been more generally rebranded to Jupyter and we now use Jupyter Notebooks.

The Jupyter program has had great success and continues to grow leaps and bounds today. The notebook environment is a great learning tool when used responsibly.

If you want to sound like you know what you’re talking about, you need to know the roots. The roots include IPython notebooks. They were the cool thing before Jupyter was cool.
